We Can Do More For Less
Written by Carl Foisy
In marketing, the ability to do more for less doesn’t come easy. While technologies have been created that help do things quicker, efficiently comes with experience. Considering that experience comes from (but not limited to) time and opportunities, as we mature in our crafts, we naturally become able to do more for less. And let’s face it, living thru the ‘demic we stretched and squeezed as much as we could from the little we had….and it forced us to creative new techniques that save time and money, while still getting the job done. Here are a few examples:
Let’s start with photography jobs. In the past restaurants would cook 100% the dishes required for the photo session, solely for the photo session. Now to do more for less we can streamline the photography process and capture menu items moments before they are brought to the guest. This method, while may require more schedule coordination, saves both time and money….and is one of many options we offer for those who are looking to save a few bucks. Sometimes it’s the difference in gear that saves time and money, like instead of lights, tripods, mirrorless SLR cameras, mics etc, we simply use our Mobile Phones. Across the board our mobile devices are efficient, but the quality from mirrorless SLR cameras is far superior and take more time.
Before the advancement of artistic ai robots, creating unique graphic designs for social media would take hours. Considering promotions for ‘the book or gram’ are normally used one-time, using ai art generators has slashed the time required to produce unique eye catching promos. I’ll be clear on this topic, while human-made designs may take more time to create, they are still superior over artificial artists. With real creatives, it’s very hard to do ‘More for Less’….but for the sake of this article, we’ve found ai art has a place in hi-productivity with low cost in some applications like social media promos….please note for all Marketing by the C designs, a human has improved each to be ready for distribution.
Buying ads is a touchy subject, and how to buy more ads for less takes talent and time. Why is ‘buying ads a touchy subject’ you may ask, it’s because no one likes to spend hard earned dollars on advertising. But there is still a way to do more with less in buying ads. With digital ads, it’s quite easy to do more for less thanks to factual data guiding us on how to refine and improve campaign efficiently. With offline ads like print and radio, we leverage the digital campaign results to help dictate direction, because digital is way more trackable than traditional. So we measure twice and cut once with buying ads, to get more for less.
Doing more for less doesn’t mean we skip planning ahead, start doing half-ass work, or stop thoughtful marketing. Doing more for less does mean we’ve figured out ways achieve business goals efficiently because we’ve practiced our technique, and are leveraging the experience we have to do quality work reasonably. Getting to the point where we can do more for less is a blessing and gives us more area to build and grow….and with Marketing by the C, we’re all about supporting local business with smart marketing.
