Content Strategies are Important
Written by Carl Foisy
Entering the digital marketing game in 2006, we’ve noticed that the intended need for, and proper use of, content hasn’t changed much. Content is still king. And while those who publish content using the sneaky ‘black-hat’ style methods have needed to continually adjust to avoid being noticed for their evil ways, those who have generated quality content with good intentions are still winning the game with rich content.
We all know that quality content doesn’t just appear out of thin air, and that it’s normally thoughtfully curated, created, published and shared. This takes coordination, time, foresight, and some basic planning ahead. Of course there will always be things to talk about for different seasons, but covering core topics that make a business what it is, is crucial. Considering we preach that marketing is a luxury, and recognize that time is money, when creating content it must always have an intended goal. This is how to create quality content.
It’s important to know that a content strategy does not always include a blog style articles, or a podcast. A content strategy can consist of social media, videos, and email marketing, as well as off-line elements like posters and radio ads etc. Anytime a business speaks outwardly, and shares topics that will bring them success, they are flexing their content. But when you add the strategy element, the content become more powerful.
A strong content strategy is prioritized before taking action. This level of planning will only lead to sound results when executed in a respectful and tactful manner. But being a business owner does not instantly make someone a marketing guru by any means. In fact, as experts in their own fields, business owners know their businesses and industries better than most. So just because a biz owner may have the knowledge to develop quality content, they might not know how to use or deploy it.
Like most business matters, the more professional you treat a business, the better it will treat you back. Since 2006 we’ve seen hundreds of different instances where serious businesses were relying on buddies, hobbyists, side-hustlers and the likes to handle their marketing and content strategy. In today’s business marketing climate, serious business owners can’t afford to not work with a pro. Thats when Marketing by the C steps in to help, as we’ve done for almost 2-decades with well established Silicon Valley companies and businesses…..and content marketing strategy and action is one of our specialties.
